Members from the 1st Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment, undertook a Direct Fire Support Weapons course on Lavarack Barracks and in the Townsville Field Training Area, to test the soldiers mental and physical robustness, ability to work as part of a team and ultimately hone their skills on heavy and anti-armour weapons. The training took place in different conditions including at night, with illumination rounds being used to support a heavy machine gun assault.
