I often take a lot of walks across the fields and spotted a lot of acorns lying around. I've made a small Acorn lidded box in the past, but got the idea to make something a lot bigger.
Using wet oak for the main body and stand and what I think may be beach for the lid. Being wet wood the oak had several cracks that needed to be glued to stop any further cracking.
As the wood was wet the process took about 4 weeks allowing the wood to dry after several processes of thinning the wood out.
The inside and under the lid were all finished with Woodwax 22, where the outside was all finished with Danish Oil.
