A walnut box I rough turned some time ago, just left to dry sat on the bench. It had hardly distorted and certainly no sign of cracks. However where the pith is and a knot holes had developed as the innards had decayed.

I used some two part epoxy and mixed in some dust from a previous project I had gathered.

Tear out was also an issue so soaking the end grain with the two part epoxy mix all helped.
