This was actually made as a quick job back in December for a Christmas present for the wife. There is a lot of wood here but only 12 segmented rings containing 12 pieces a ring.

I've mainly used Beech but added in some rings of Sapele and Padauk.

After going through a few designs I decided on this as doing segmented work with big curves means you have to use a lot bigger pieces of wood for the segments.

Due to the size I had to use my homemade steady rest which you can see how that was made in another video on the channel.

This was finished off with several coats of spray lacquer, which wasn't decided upon until the end of the build.
