VIDEO INFO: I don’t remember a peep about it at the time, but it has since been established that ‘Toronto Rocks’ was the best-attended concert in Canadian history, pulling in between 450,000 and 500,000 punters which I’m sure would nudge it into the all-time top 20.
Headlined by the Stones at Downsview Park on 30 July 2003 (this footage is from the DVD released the following year) it marked the tragic death of 8,000 people worldwide who had contracted something called Coronavirus!
As such it had a plethora of alternative titles including"SARSStock", "SARSfest", “SARS-a-palooza" (you get the idea…).
