It happens somewhat frequently to at least 2 specific Guardian Scouts in the game: the one in the Ka'o Makagh shrine (from this video) and one in the Kaam Ya'tak shrine.

...but it's not ONLY those two. It can also happen in:

- Rok Uwog (reddit.com/r/Breath_of_the_Wild/comments/a3wtut/this_is_by_far_the_weirdest_thing_ive_ever_seen/)

- Ruvo Korbah (reddit.com/r/Breath_of_the_Wild/comments/c3h2r1/everyone_gangster_until_the_spear_starts_standing/)

- inside any of the Test of Strenght shrines that feature a spear-wielding scout (reddit.com/r/Breath_of_the_Wild/comments/ervpgt/sorry_for_the_awful_quality_but_look_how_this/)

... and even inside of Divine Beasts (reddit.com/r/Breath_of_the_Wild/comments/erh8yx/just_killed_a_guardian_and_this_spear_decided_to/)

Basically any spear-wielding Guardian Scout that dies close enough to a wall (or big enough obstacle) can drop its spear that way.

So ...yeah, it's certainly neat whenever it happens, but it's not rare.
