With Double Fine being snatched up by Microsoft, the independent run of one of the most beloved games studios is over. But they’re not the only ones selling themselves to AAA publishers, just the latest in a growing (and worrying) trend.

In today’s video, we’re taking a look at the growing desire of AAA publishers to buy out indie studios, and its potentially devastating effect on indie gaming. Dozens of once-independent studios have been sold to AAA publishers who have a long history of ruining what makes their studios great. Is this going to ruin indie gaming? Double Fine may show us.
