A side-by-side comparison of Hideaki Anno and Yoko Higuchi’s vision.
A little over a week ago, we released our last short film, “A Woman’s World”, which was heavily influenced by the works of Hideaki Anno, the famed creator of “Evangelion”. Because of this, it was important to writer/director Yoko Higuchi to emulate Anno’s style in this new film. So much so in fact that he made sure that the film would look and sound as if Anno would direct it now. To ensure this, Yoko made sure to bring shots from Anno’s previous works as storyboards to then use for the cinematography. In this side-by-side comparison video, you can see where Yoko took some of the key shots for the film and some of the film’s dialogue as well.
We hope this will give you all some insight to how Yoko wanted to shoot this film and how much Anno’s work inspired him during the creative process.
