Someone suggested that I make a “week in the life” video so I gave it a try this week! I did not do a great job of keeping up with things so I had to add some interjection videos at the end, but I hope you enjoy anyway!
0:00- intro
0:28- Sunday: church in the morning (including “blessing bags” for Room in the Inn); Anne of Green Gables VHS marathon with my friend Leslie!
1:08- Monday: ran in the morning, played at the Picnic Tap but forgot my XLR so I had to jog to Fanny’s House of Music for a replacement. Then off to Belmont to see Alex Graham and Paulo Oliveira’s duo, DuoVersal!
2:19- Tuesday: Music Health Alliance “What The Health?!” event at BMI; recorded a video for Bangs Shoes (I’m a brand ambassador so we promote it once a month with themed content on Instagram); church choir rehearsal; then I got to go back to Belmont to see a small group from Jazzmin perform one of my trio arrangements!! I think this is the first time I’ve seen my music performed by a group I wasn’t part of!
4:16- Wednesday: played an opening set at Kimbro’s Pickin Parlor for Lucy Isabel (Raihanna Estrada also opened and was fabulous)!
4:59- Thursday: HALLOWEEN! Except I didn’t do anything Halloween related. Just put together charts and binders for my Friday show :) Husband had to wake up really early on Thursday so we went to bed really early and didn’t do any fun Halloween things.
6:20- Friday: I had to take husband to the airport for a weekend with Kris Allen at Disney in Florida! I also ran and had a big show at Rudy’s! It was my first time having my friend Josh Irwin play guitar for a show in Nashville and it was very dope in my opinion. Definitely hoping to do more of that.
8:16- Saturday: I had to wake up early for a music education event at the Grand Ole Opry! It was my first time at the Opry since college and I had a great time teaching the kids. Afterward, I got to play a duo gig with Kori Caswell at a hotel downtown! Kori is a fantastic bassist who I enjoy working with, but at this gig I also discovered that she’s great at guitar and singing, too.
