Join me for another eventful day of general aviation flying in my Cessna 172 (Foxtrot Mike Victor Uniform) as I tackle a minor oil drip that leads to a bigger engine concern. After noticing oil on the nose wheel and some spray along the belly, I fly up to Chris’s hangar to perform an oil change and track down the source of the leak.
🔧 We go hands-on with compression testing, a thorough boroscope inspection, and uncover a sticky intake valve and two cylinders showing differential pressure loss. I also share the backstory of this vintage Continental engine—its decades of dormancy, the overhaul history, and how these issues are part of keeping a classic aircraft in the sky.
