Bunny shows the ‘show offs’ in her spring garden: these include Ferrula communis, Azara microphylla, perennial honesty and Magnolia x loebneri, plus the recent ‘off cuts’ from some instant hedging, that she has just planted to form into topiary.
She takes a quick tour round the major areas in her ½ acre garden (excluding the meadow), explaining how it is designed to be maintained on less than two man days a week, and how it has to supply her in the lions share of meat, veg, eggs, herbs and a fair bit of fruit.
Bunny is always trying out different plants, techniques and ideas here, and has just planted some new hardier persimmon trees, Nikitas Gift and Roseyanka , which fruit within five years and some honey berries, Lonicera edulis.
