Bunny filmed this around nine years ago. Capability Brown (1716 -1783) bought land at Fenstanton and never had time to create a garden. So Bunny visited many well known Brown landscapes including Burghley House, Milton Abbas, Castle Ashby, Blenheim Palace and also The Backs at Cambridge (which he designed a scheme for but was never built) for inspiration. Drawing on these schemes plus with help from Brown experts – Landscape Architect, Johnny Phibbs, Professor Tom Williamson and Jane Brown (biographer of Brown) Bunny creates a garden he might have designed at Fenstanton Manor. Brown was the first celebrity gardener and created over 250 gardens, many of these are still surviving today.
