Passengers from Essex, UK, faced major rail disruption after a train partially derailed near Wickford less than a day after another derailment in East Sussex.

Emergency services were called to the incident near Wickford on Thursday afternoon after the rear carriages of a Greater Anglia train left the tracks.

The train remained upright and no injuries were reported. Services between Southend Victoria and Shenfield were suspended while investigations continued, with passengers advised to avoid travelling if possible.
