A short prayer I wrote for the goddess Brigid, sung three times over (she was likely a triple goddess after all!). The holiday of Imbolc, celebrated February 1st-2nd, is an ancient celebration of Brigid, and the etymology of "Imbolc"- though unclear, may come from the Old Irish "i mbolc," meaning "in the belly", referring to the pregnancy of ewes. Thus, this prayer begins with a recognition of the signs that winter is slowly turning to spring- new lambs are on the way, and the sun is coming up earlier. This prayer asks Brigid to bless the inhabitants of the house as she travels from home to home on the night of Imbolc.

Oh to hear the newborn lambs bleating, bleating
Oh to see the sun so early greeting, greeting
May your fires burn away sin and sorrow oh we pray
This night as you make your way bless us as we're sleeping.
