Plague Tale: Requiem was a disappointment to me. While this reaction might be due to misguided hopes for more dynamic gameplay, there's no denying that Requiem recycles a lot of ideas from the first game while not pushing things forward significantly. Requiem does offer up some new inclusions, but often times they are stripped away too fast, resulting in a mixed bag of levels. The story concludes with a masterful heartfelt moment, but the lead up to it feels weak. They subvert your expectations, but it takes 15 hours of slog to get to that point. I feel it's a game that's better on a second playthrough than a first. Enjoy my full critique of the game.
