ℹ️ About the Episode:
Our time at NASA has been fascinating, to say the least. We expected that to a certain extent, but a couple of things stood out. First, the sheer size of everything. Not just the buildings, the launch pads, and the crawler that can move up to 18 million pounds, but also the land itself. In some cases, it's a 20-minute bus ride just to get to the next building! Also, NASA is in the midst of a serious paradigm shift. Although we were familiar with SpaceX (and even a customer by way of Starlink), we didn't fully grasp the impact that NASA's "commercial partners" are having on the future of space exploration and discovery. With SpaceX focused on transportation systems and now the lunar lander for the Artemis program, NASA can focus even more on research and the goal of one day colonizing the Moon and Mars. If you watched to the end of last week's episode, we mentioned that NASA's schedule was non-stop. We were not sure how we'd have time to edit and release an episode. Well, the Crew-6 launch was delayed 24 hours, giving us a very small window to interview Scott Poteet to get firsthand insight and his personal perspective on the preparations of going to space. We thought this interview would set the stage for everything we'll share next Sunday.
