Lassen Volcanic National Park may be the most underrated national park in America.
When we arrived, we expected to see a volcano similar to Mount Shasta or Mount Hood. What we didn't expect were bubbling mud pots, steaming fumaroles, crystal-clear alpine lakes, and landscapes that reminded us of Yellowstone National Park, all with a fraction of the crowds.
In this episode, we explore Lassen Volcanic National Park, hike some of its best trails, discover its incredible hydrothermal features, and experience one of California's most overlooked national parks.
This visit also marks a major milestone for us: Lassen is the ninth and final national park in California, completing our journey through every national park in the Golden State.
Along the way, we also stumble upon an unexpected Airstream rally, making this one of our favorite episodes of the season.
