This year has been an important chapter for the school. The support of our larger community has ensured major advancements in our mission as we look to the future, despite the federal and state budget challenges that we face.
Next year, we will take meaningful and exciting steps forward in our strategic growth. In Southern California, the new Janice K. Hobbs UC Davis Veterinary Medical Center will open its doors. Here in Davis, we will welcome our new equine rehabilitation center and embark in earnest on the design and architectural plans for the Veterinary Education Pavilion, the new Primary Care Hospital, and the other facilities in our masterplan. Together, these advancements will enable us to educate more veterinarians, care for more animals, and make new scientific discoveries.
For this year’s holiday video we are honoring our past, present and future. We loosely based the storyline on A Christmas Carol, but there are no Scrooges here—only generous spirits. It is our people who have and will continue to make the school a place of wonder during the holidays and throughout the year.
I hope that you have a wonderful holiday season and an inspired beginning to your New Year. Thank you for being part of UC Davis and for helping to move veterinary medicine forward.
