We start in the small town of Nice, California and head west on California Route 20. We drive through the hills and countryside until we reach US Highway 101. We head north on 101 and pass over 1,953 foot Ridgewood Summit. This is the highest point on the entire length of US 101.
We descend into the town of Willits, where we continue west on Route 20. This highway winds its way though the hills and thick woods until it reaches the town of Fort Bragg on the Pacific Coast. At Fort Bragg, we briefly head south on California Route 1 and pay a visit to the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens.
