Using a compound gear and transmission to multiply the rotation from opening a beer, the motion is transmitted into the sliding plate through a rack and pinion system. This fully mechanical sculpture then uses an elastic band to pop it back into place once the bottle has been opened.
This download includes all the 3D Printed parts you will need to make the For a Beer 3D Printed Bottle Opener. This whole piece is completely 3D Printed and can be assembled without any additional tools. You will need a small coin (US/CAD 10 cent coin or something similar that is 20mm in diameter or less). If you want the automatic return, you need an elastic band!
