Wagner Leitmotifs | 95 World's Treasure : Der Ring Des Nibelungen @wagnerleitmotifs7654 | Uploaded September 2013 | Updated October 2024, 1 hour ago.
This leitmotif is first heard in act 3 scene 3 of Siegfried.

This motif is the second tune from Siegfried's Idyll, but unlike Immortal Beloved, it does reappear in the cycle, although in a speeded up version as Heroic Love. Here Brunnhilde sings the words "O Siegfried! Herrlicher! Hort der Weib!" ("O Siegfried! Glorious hero! World's Treasure!").

Note how the opening minor intervals contrast with the bright perfect 4th to "Herr...", and also how the motif is symmetrical between beats 3 of bar 2 and 3, giving a feeling of unity and peace.
