Your inbox isn't a to-do list.
It's someone else's list for you.
I interviewed 700+ people during my PhD research.
9 out of 10 had zero clarity on what mattered most to them.
So they woke up, grabbed their phone, and let other people's priorities become their own.
Here's the pattern I kept seeing:
No clarity = reactive living.
You're not building toward something.
You're just putting out fires.
The loudest notification wins.
The angriest email gets answered first.
Another "urgent" meeting hijacks your day.
→ Urgency always beats importance when you don't know the difference.
The shift that changes everything:
Define what matters before you open your laptop.
One thing.
Maybe three.
Not 20.
What are the outcomes that actually move your life forward?
Then design your day around protecting time for those.
Everything else?
Batched.
Delegated.
Or ignored.
Bottom line:
Clarity isn't a luxury.
It's the difference between building a life and borrowing someone else's.
Without it, your calendar is just a suggestion box for everyone but you.
Define your priorities or spend your life executing everyone else's.
