Music Cut From HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON 2 Film Score and More 2022-05-14 | This is Dragon's Lair (2m12), an unreleased track from John Powell's How To Train Your Dragon 2 score. It was cut from the movie and not included on the original album. It is now available on the How To Train Your Dragon 2 deluxe album from 5 Cat Studios.This track sets the tone for the scene and reprises familiar music from the series, but this would have made six-and-a-half minutes of wall-to-wall music. There needed to be a breather right here.I carefully synched Dragon's Lair with the scene so it overlaps Toothless Lost/Hiccup and Toothless Attacked, and I mixed it in with the film audio so it sounds like it would have if it stayed in the final cut. How To Train Your Dragon Score: New Tail Piano Cover/Music Video (John Powell) Film Score and More 2022-01-20 | This New Tail piano cover from Dreamworks' How To Train Your Dragon was a long time coming, and it's one of my favorite tracks from John Powell's score! New Tail uses several unique ethnic instruments including the hurdy-gurdy, the yayli tanbur, and the sopilka whistle, which I explained in my video on the score's unique cultural influences (linked below in the comments). This track also uses the Fate Theme (basically Hiccup's theme) and one of the Viking themes when Hiccup and Toothless take off. I replaced Michael Giacchino's Kronos Unveiled with Anthropodie by Christophe Beck because it suits the tone and gradually escalates. The reason I did this re-score is that both Forbidden Friendship and You're So Cool use marimbas extensively. I didn't even realize You're So Cool is in the first trailer for HTTYD 1!Something about the marimbas makes You're So Cool fit here and match the playful spirit of Forbidden Friendship, despite the song being from a movie written by Quentin Tarantino, which I wouldn't have expected. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Soundtrack: Harry in Winter Orchestral Cover - Patrick Doyle Film Score and More 2020-12-29 | Patrick Doyle was the first composer to take over the Harry Potter soundtracks after John Williams, and his work on Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire matches the first three in quality and reflects the tone shift for the change in the story and the new director, Mike Newell. The Call of the Wild Soundtrack: Joining the Team Piano Cover - John Powell Film Score and More 2020-12-10 | This is my cover of Joining the Team from John Powell's Call of the Wild soundtrack. This song has several variations of some of the themes, including the sled team themes, and Buck's theme. The secondary sled team theme plays early and then on a much larger scale later on. Buck's theme is hinted at in a couple ways when he starts helping the other dogs and then played outright at 1:44.I like how this cue starts with only folk instruments and as it grows more orchestral instruments enter. The Call of the Wild Soundtrack: Wake the Girls Piano Cover - John Powell Film Score and More 2020-10-30 | This is my Wake the Girls piano cover, from the opening of John Powell's Call of the Wild soundtrack. John Powell is known for writing very thematic music, and I think pretty much everything in this Buck's theme. The start shows his more serious theme and at 0:34 his more lighthearted and free theme enters. This theme shows up again in several other cues, including my covers for Snowy Climb and Buck Takes the Lead. Buck's light theme starts very open and happy here becomes more disciplined over time. The heavier theme follows him in more serious moments like Train North and the ending of the movie, in the track titled: The Call of the Wild. This cue also really has the spirit of a big, rambunctious dog, especially towards the very end. John Powell and Batu Sener have finally released their own Call of the Wild piano solos, and it seems they're also the same arrangement from the Call of the Wild piano book (which Batu Sener probably arranged). Mine is also based off the Call of the Wild piano book, but with several embellishments. The Call of the Wild: Buck Takes the Lead Piano Cover - John Powell Film Score and More 2020-10-08 | As far as I know, this is the only piano cover on YouTube of Buck Takes the Lead from John Powell's Call of the Wild score, until Powell himself and Batu Sener release their upcoming Call of the Wild piano solos.John Powell's score for The Call of the Wild is great, and I was looking forward to it since I heard he and Chris Sanders were working together on it, with Harrison Ford starring, too! I started this project a long time ago because the song is about African children returning to the continent after hardships and still persevering, like T’Challa returning to Wakanda after the death of their king. For Amistad, John Williams adapted Dadié’s poem to music and translated the lyrics (translated below) to Mende. I didn’t expect this video to become so timely through unfortunate circumstances, but I knew it was finally time to release it, now as a tribute. RIP Chadwick Boseman. Avatar: The Last Airbender - Zuko Beach Flashback/Reconciliation (Cover) Film Score and More 2020-08-18 | The soundtrack of Avatar: The Last Airbender (by Jeremy Zuckerman and the Track Team) has always been terrific and distinctive. This theme from the beach on Ember Island is one of the more subtle pieces, but it’s still powerful. Despite only appearing in book 3, this theme is so prominent then it could almost be Zuko’s leitmotif, apart from that main Fire Nation motif all over the show. It’s also called “Reconciliation,” but that is a different arrangement from a different scene in Sozin's Comet.I used a celeste for most of it and just two violin sections with a cello section for the strings. I could be wrong, but I didn't notice any violas or basses.
