The July 2026 Dearness Allowance calculation is pointing towards a rise from the current 60% to around 63%, although the final rate still awaits formal notification from the Finance Ministry. Some estimates suggest it could be closer to 64%. Meanwhile, the 8th Central Pay Commission is conducting nationwide consultations with employee and pensioner organisations. Its recommendations are expected around mid-2027, with key issues including basic pay, pensions, allowances and the fitment factor.
