Hello, and welcome to 80/20's product highlight series. Today we're going to take a look at the double anchor fastener. What makes the double anchor fastener so popular is its unmatched strength. It's available in fractional, metric, and is compatible across a wide range of profile series.

The double anchor fastener comes in five parts; you have two cams, two bolts, and a double T-nut. Now one thing you'll want to keep in mind when using the double anchor fastener; you'll need a counterbore service in two sides of your bar. More information on the counterbore service can be found in the 80/20 product catalog.

Now when it comes to installing the double anchor fastener, you're going to start with your bolts. Take your bolts, put them into your cams. At that point, you're going to take your bar with the counterbore machined into it, and place the cams into the counterbores. Next, grab your double T-nut. Place it on the end of the bolts, take your wrench and slightly engage the T-nuts into the threads. At that point we are ready for our other bar. We're going to slide the double anchor fastener into the bar, and find our desired location. At that point, take your T-wrench, and tighten down firmly.

Now the great thing about the double anchor fastener is its adjustability. If you need a new location on the bar, simply loosen up the double anchor fastener, and slide it anywhere along the bar. Once you found your new location, tighten down, and you're good to go. At this point, we have a strong, secure, vibration-proof connection, good for any load-bearing application.

Today we’re going to take a look at panel gasket. It helps fill the gap between panel and t-slot, cutting down on noise and vibration. It’s easy to install and available in both fractional and metric. Now when it comes to installing panel gasket, you’re just going to need your clippers. So we’ll move our frame here, get it into place, and we’ll grab our panel gasket, we’ve already got it cut to length, now I’m just going to cut it at a 45 degree angle and what that’s going to do is allow our panel gasket pieces to meet in the corner nice and flush. We’ll just start by placing it right into the open T-slot between the panel and the bar itself. Just slightly push down and work your way across, and once I’m done with that, I’m going to repeat the process all the way around the frame. Now you’re only going to need to do this on one side, and once you are done with that, it should cut down on a lot of noise and vibration in your panel. Today we’ll be taking a look at roller wheels. These wheels allow profiles to easily roll along the T-slot of adjoining profiles. They are easy to install, available in both fractional and metric, and compatible across a wide range of profile series. Now the great thing about using these wheels, is they require no machining, and they come preassembled. Now when it comes to installing these wheels, you have two choices. You can install it with or without a bracket. If you are going to do it without a bracket, simply take the wheel and loosen up the T-nut, and you’ll slide it into the open T-slot. You’ll find your location, and then you’ll tighten it down. Now if you’re going to use a bracket you simply take the preassembled part, and loosen up the T-nuts. From there, you’ll slide it into the open T-slot, you’ll find your location you want, and you’ll tighten down the bolts as well. From there you’ll take your mating profile, and as you can see you’ll have nice smooth movement, thanks to these roller wheels. Now hopefully you found this segment of roller wheels helpful. Today we’re going to take a look at dynamic pivots. These pivots allow two bars to pivot and position at various angles. They’re easy to install, available in both fractional and metric, and compatible across a wide range of profile series. They require no machining and come preassembled. They can also come as individual components allowing you to customize your pivot. More information on 80/20’s dynamic pivot components can be found in the 80/20 product catalog. Now before we get started it’s worth noting that dynamic pivots come in various styles and alignments. Such as zero degree which runs parallel with the bar, and ninety degree which runs perpendicular with the bar. Now for our example we are going to start with individual components and assemble a dynamic pivot ourselves. So we’ll grab one of our arms, take a washer and put it in the Tnut side. Take our nub, and we’ll line up that arm on the side of the nub. We’ll take a bolt, and feed it through, and we’ll just hand tighten that down. Go ahead and finish that off with our wrench, get that nice and snug. Now once we have that tightened down, you can see we still have full range on our dynamic pivot. So we’ll go ahead and repeat the process on the other side. Grab our arm, put a washer on the Tnut side., and line it up over the side of the nub. Grab our bolt, and we’ll feed it right through into the threaded hole in the nub. Hand-tighten that down. We’ll grab our wrench, and finish it off. Now once you have all that together, we’re at the point where we match our preassembled dynamic pivot. So from here we’ll go ahead and install it onto our profile, we’ll loosen up the Tnut on the nub. Now that we’ve got that loose, we’ll slide it right into the open Tslot. We’ll go ahead and find our position on there, and we’ll tighten that down. From there, to install our other bar. We’ll first need to loosen up the Tnuts and the bolts on our arms. So we’ll just get these loosened up. Once you have those loosened up, you’ll grab your other profile, and we’ll slide it right in between the arms. Now you want to make sure when you’re installing this that you don’t get your profile too close to your nub, you want a little bit of a gap. So we’ll grab our wrench and we’ll tighten the bolts back down. Now once you have that tightened down you have a nice secure connection, but you still have fluid movement in your dynamic pivot. Now lastly we want to mention that dynamic pivots can come with brake handles. You simply loosen up your brake handle, move your profile into the desired location that you want and you can tighten that brake handle back down and it’ll hold it right into position for you. These components are great for adding motion to any project. They are easy to install, come in a variety of styles, and are customizable. They’re available in both fractional and metric, and compatible across a wide range of profile series. The first type of linear motion component we want to talk about is our flanged style. These come preassembled with extra shims. They’re available in both single and double style. Our next style is UniBearing . This option is great for running two profiles parallel with each other. Now although these come preassembled, a bolt assembly will be needed. More information on 80/20’s recommended bolt assemblies can be found in the 80/20 product catalog. Now before you install this component, we want to point out that all of out bearing pads come self lubricating and with rounded edges. This is going to help ensure easy installation and smooth motion. Now to install this we are going to take our linear bearing, put one last bolt and washer in it, take our Tnut, preload it on there, and we want to make sure that your pilot projection is facing downwards or away from the bearing. From there, we’ll just line it up with the open Tslot, and slide it on. You’ll find the position that you want, take your wrench, and you’ll tighten down the bolts. Now once you have those tightened down, you can put your project into motion. Something else you may want to consider is the option of a brake. Our flanged styles come with and without brake holes. So if you decide to use a brake, take your linear bearing, feed a bolt from inside out, put a washer on the outside, and just tighten down your handle. Now it’s worth noting that our brake handles come in a variety of styles, as seen here. Now one other option you may want to consider is what type of bearing pad to use. We have our standard style, then we have our high-cycle style. This is perfect for using in heavy duty applications that have sudden starts and stops, and high cycle rates. Now the next type of linear motion we want to talk about is our UniBearing . It’s available in both single and double flanged options. They come preassembled with all recommended hardware included. Now when it comes to installing it, you’ll simply loosen up the center Tnut, slide your profile on, and you’ll tighten down the bolts on the other side. From there you can put it to use depending on if it’s a single or double style. Now the last thing we want to mention is our black anodize. All of our linear motion is now available in both clear and black anodize to suit your project’s needs.
