Hello, and welcome to 80/20's product highlight series. Today, we're going to take a look at the bolt connector. This connector is virtually invisible once installed, and is a great choice when making a flush 90 degree connection.

The bolt connector comes in six parts; you have two bolts, two T-nuts, an alignment pin, and a spacer. Now one thing you want to keep in mind when using the bolt connector, is one of your bars is going to need machined on one end with a thru hole. Now when it comes to installing the bolt connector, you're going to start with your alignment pin. Take your bar with the machining service, and place the alignment pin through the machining service. From there, we'll take our spacer and place it in the center cavity of the profile. We'll take our bolts with the T-nuts on them, and place them on both sides of the profile. We'll grab our other bar, and line up the T-nuts with the open T-slot. We'll find the location on the bar where we want it, and we'll tighten down.

Now the great thing about the bolt connector is its adjustability. If you need a new location on the bar, simply loosen your bolts, and slide it into a new location. Take your wrench, and tighten it back down. Once you have it tightened down, you have a secure hidden connection. Now hopefully you found this segment on the bolt connector helpful. Today we’re going to take a look at flanged mount casters. These casters are great for making applications mobile. They come in a variety of styles including swivel and non swivel, braking and non braking, and a wide variety of sizes. They’re available in fractional and metric, and compatible across a wide range of profile series. They require no machining, and can be used with, or without, a base plate. Regardless of your choice, a bolt assembly is required. More information on 80/20’s recommended bolt assemblies can be found in the 80/20 product catalog. Now, for our example, we are going to show you how to use a base plate to install your caster. We’ve already got our base plate assembled onto the profile, we’ll take our caster. We’ll line up the holes on the caster with the ones on the baseplate. We’ll take our bolts, and one by one, tighten them down with our wrench. Once you have those tightened down, you have a strong secure connection for your caster. It’s also worth noting, that is comes in a triangle corner style, like this one here. Today were going to take a look at the structural pivots. This connection method allows bars to be positioned along a wide variety of angles. Theyre easy to install and are available in both fractional, metric, and are compatible across a wide range of profile series. Now when it comes to using the structural pivot, you have a few options to choose from. The first choice is how you receive your part. The structural pivot can be purchased as stand-alone parts, or as a preassembled part, ready to install, as seen here. Now the next thing youll want to consider is the alignment of the pivot nub, and how it sits on the profile. The nub comes in two styles, you have the 90 degree and you have the 0 degree, the only difference being the orientation to the bar. Now regardless of your choices, the pivot nub will need additional bolt assemblies for mounting. More information on 80/20s recommended bolt assemblies can be found in the 80/20 product catalog. Now when it comes to installing the structural pivot, the first thing youll want to do is preload your hardware. Preloading not only makes it easier to install your structural pivot, but also saves time during assembly. Now the first thing Im going to do is take the structural pivot and put one last bolt and one last T-nut in it. Its important to know when youre installing your T-nuts, to have the pilot projection facing downwards. Once we have that ready to go, well take our first bar, and slide the pivot nub right onto it. Once weve found our location well take our wrench, and tighten that into place. From there we are ready for our next bar, and well slide it right onto the arms of the structural pivot. Well take our wrench and tighten down that hardware. Now the last thing well want to do is find the angle that we want our bar at. Once weve found that well tighten down the pivot bolts.
