The Bigme HiBreak Dual might be the most capable e-ink phone available right now. It has a Dimensity 1080 chip, up to 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, stylus support, a fingerprint reader, a 300ppi e-ink display and Bigme’s very fast refresh modes.

And honestly, some of it is seriously impressive.
But the more interesting question is what this phone reveals about the whole e-ink phone market. Because if this is currently the best option, then there is still a huge opportunity for someone to make a higher-spec e-ink phone with a cleaner, calmer, more reliable interface.
In this first look, I test the HiBreak Dual’s performance, stylus, hyper refresh, circular LCD back screen, software quirks, screen quality and general phone potential.
This is not quite the finished answer. But it might be the clearest sign yet that the e-ink phone category is ready for someone to get it properly right.
