Have you ever read the forms,
In the hospital conundrum,
I know you don’t understand them all,
As it would take hours just read them.

And even then you couldn’t really know,
That is, without a proctor,
Unless you are fully qualified,
As both a lawyer and a doctor.

But you are there for a reason,
Your condition has drained your might,
You decline to defend that mountain,
You’re not spoiling for a fight.

But toward the end of the paperwork,
You sign your fortune away,
It says you agree to pay the entire bill,
If your insurance does not pay.

But you are sick or you wouldn’t be there,
And it is the only game in town,
How much money am I signing for,
But they haven’t written that part down.

It is the only institution I can think of,
That sells everything you touch,
Then makes you agree to pay for it,
Without telling you how much.

And then you see the reason why,
They keep the money part a secret,
Because if we really had to pay that much,
We would tell them they could keep it.
