🚫 5 Things to Never Do When Potty Training 🚫
1️⃣ Never ask “Do you need to go potty?” — Instead, you will tell, state, and / or guide her to the potty (one exception is if your toddler says “yes” and means “yes” and says “no” when she means “no”)
2️⃣ Never use punishment. Potty learning should be positive and respectful. This is a normal bodily function and simply teaching where it goes now.
3️⃣ Never force a child to stay in any position. Respect their body autonomy. You can still be firm and gentle at the same time
4️⃣ Never use bribery or rewards. This should be non-coercive.
5️⃣ Never play potty roulette! Don’t guess with 20-minute timers.
Potty independence works best when it’s respectful and collaborative.
