I spent 5 brutal and beautiful days backpacking the Icicle Divide - a remote and mostly abandoned trail deep in the heart of the Cascade Mountains! This is potentially the most difficult backpacking trip in Washington State. Starting at Stevens Pass on the PCT, this barely traveled trail traverses mountain passes, burbling creeks, stunning lakes, and craggy peaks for 45 miles all the way into the town of Leavenworth where I live! For much of this adventure there was no trail at all, and every day was a punishing challenge of ascents and descents that tested me physically, and emotionally. Joining me on this once in a lifetime adventure was my good friend, and fellow outdoor YouTuber, @eric_hanson! That's right - he's back! This was the most difficult and rewarding backpacking trip I have ever done. We had a blast, we struggled, we cried, we laughed, and were awestruck by this gorgeous lost trail deep in Washington's rugged Alpine Lakes Wilderness! Yay backpacking! I hope you enjoy... 💚
