Hello everyone! Welcome to the Columbus Air Show from Rickenbacker Int'l Airport in beautiful Columbus, Ohio. It is my pleasure to bring you all some videos from the amazing flying lineup we had for this years show and it was my first time doing this show so I was looking forward to soaking it all in!
Kicking off the airshow right after opening ceremonies we had the United States Navy F-35C Lightning II Demo Team based at NAS Lemoore, California. The team is part of the squadron VFA-125 known as the 'Rough Raiders' and flies the navy variant of the F-35 known as the F-35C. It is the Navy's first stealth fighter designed for aircraft carrier operations with larger wings, folding wingtips, stronger landing gear and of course the tailhook. The pilot for today's show was LT Ernst 'Donnie' Van Der Berg and he flew a hell of a display for the crowd with passes including the high alpha pass, two tactical pitches, carrier breaks and an amazing photo pass to start the show. On a personal note, it was my first time seeing this team perform and these guys are jawdropping!
