Earth Defense Force: World Brothers is a new spinoff in the long-running EDF series. It was developed by Yuke's, who most people know as the main developer of WWE games over the last 20 years. They also developed EDF Iron Rain before this, so they aren't new to the series. And as a big EDF fan, I think they've been doing a really good job.
World Brothers is a mashup of the previous games in the series, with enemies and tons of playable characters from all of them. Being able to freely switch between characters during a mission is a really fun gimmick, and it lets you cover all of your bases. I generally pick characters for mobility, support, and long range, then adjust my setup whenever needed. Every character has a special ability and super attack too, so there's a ton of room for experimenting with different strategies.
EDF is one of my favorite series, so I've been wanting to post more videos of it... The problem is just figuring out how to make it fit in with my channel. After thinking about it for a while, the only thing I could come up with is an Inferno playthrough with the default armor value for each character. Most of the missions won't be a problem, but I can see some of them are going to be really hard. So that will be fun. I'd like to do other EDF games like this too, some day.
I'll probably post this series in six parts, each ending with the mothership boss battle. Hopefully it won't take long to finish.
I was provided a key for coverage on this channel by @EDF_Official_EN on twitter, and they even sent along the season pass! So you'll see some of the DLC characters and weapons, and I'll do the DLC missions when they come out as well. I've seen a little bit of footage of them, and it looks like they have some new (old) enemies that didn't appear in the main game, so that should be good.
You can buy World Brothers on PS4, Switch, and Steam. FYI, I'm playing on Steam and the game runs perfectly at max settings on my 3080. I'd definitely recommend it, it's a really good game.

![[SNES] Pocky & Rocky - No Death Clear (Hard)
Pocky & Rocky, known in Japan as Kiki Kaikai (奇々怪界) is a free-scrolling shooter created by Natsume for the SNES. Its the sequel to the 1986 arcade game from Taito. The series follows the adventures of a young Shinto shrine maiden, Pocky (Sayo-chan), and her tanuki companion, Rocky (Manuke), as they fight through a variety of monsters based on Japanese legends and mythology.
This is a no death clear of Hard mode. The game doesnt change too much between Normal and Hard. It just seems like basic stat increases: enemies movie faster, have more HP, and shoot faster. You start with one less life and less bombs, I think. Its not a hard game either way.
The remake will be out in less than a week, so I had to stop procrastinating and play more of the original games. Im glad I did, because not only is this game pretty great, but it helps you appreciate all of the changes and improvements theyre doing for the remake. I watched the trailers again after playing this, and it makes the new game look even better. I think Natsume was one of the best developers on the SNES, and Tengo Project is one of the best developers around today. These guys dont miss.
