EC 211 train ride through the whole of Slovenia, from Austrian to Croatian train border station. It is a ride over two main railway lines of Slovenia, Jesenice - Ljubljana and Ljubljana - Zidani Most - Dobova. The ride starts at mountain area of Karawanks and Kamnik–Savinja Alps in the northern part of Slovenia. Then the train descends the Sava River valley towards Bled, Kranj and Skofja Loka. The ride continues along the flat plain to the central main railway station in Ljubljana. It follows by a fast ride up to 120 km/h through a bunch of tracks, junctions, line separations and industrial centers of Ljubljana. There are the Ljubljana thermal power plant, intermodal terminal, oil terminal, large railway depot and marshalling yard Ljubljana Zalog.
Not long after the marshalling yard the railway line again enters the narrow Sava river valley. Before Litija, line pass through the tunnel and over the bridge, crossing to the left bank of the Sava river. It continues through such a beautiful green valley to the Sava station. After that station and the beautiful scenic village, line enters the narrow gorge, which continues to Zidan Most. After that mountainous, curvy and narrow river gorge, fulfilled with dense green forests, line gradually enters the flatter terrain again towards the Croatian border.
The railway line follows the course of the Sava River almost the entire way, which makes the train jurney especially scenic. From Ljubljana to Zidani Most train ride is on the left track of double-track railway line. It is a legacy from the Austro-Hungarian period. From Zidan Most to Dobova, it continues on the right track. Most of the ride takes place along the former main railway link of the former Yugoslavia, from Ljubljana to Zagreb, Belgrade and Skopje. In the Sava Valley, train occasionally passes close by industrial centers and factories, which are still in use and have railway connections and own small freight trains railway stations. The train stops at several stations along the way. This ride was especially enhanced by a distinct blue sky with a hint of beautiful scattered clouds.

Recording is done from ÖBB 1216 locomotive with 5 coaches EuroCity passenger train. It was in the summer time and the sound of the air conditioner is heard while driving, so I especially apologize for that rough locomotive cab sound. There is also one error in the text data info bar near the end of the video. It's during the locomotive shunting operations in Dobova, where it should have been written "Changing from 25kV to 3kV", instead of "Changing from 3kV to 25kV". Regardless of those little things, the ride was done in very nice and sunny weather, with a lot of surrounding greenery, due to heavy rainfall in that period of summer. A few days before this recording and only a few hours after this recording, heavy rainfall are hitting Slovenia. A large part of the roads has been flooded, the railway network has been affected and damaged in several places. This is the reason for the smaller number of freight trains along the way, than is usual for Slovenia. In the next couple of days after the recording very large floods followed, the Sava river overflowed near the town of Litija and even this railway line was damaged.

The railway part of Corridor 10 through Serbia has a good part of its length in a very poor condition due to lack of maintenance. On several sections of that railway corridor the track condition is extremely bad. Realization of some infrastructure projects are waiting for decades and during this time some of its parts are rapidly collapse.
An example is the main railway line between Belgrade and Novi Sad at the station Čortanovci. In this station infrastructure situation is unchanged for more than a decade. There are several ponds of mud and water below some switches. After heavy precipitation they make a real little chaos when train is passing. Part of this splashy chaos is shown in this video.
Its probably more interesting when there is even more water below the track.

One of the main railway lines of Romania, line CFR 100 (Bucharest - Timisoara), passes through the scenic natural environment of the Southern Carpathian mountain range. Scenery areas along this line stretch through numerous river valleys to the point where the Carpathians meet the Danube River, in the Đerdap Gorge. Single track section of the line stretches along the narrow edge of the Danube river bank, over numerous old steel bridges and through several tunnels. Then, the line separates from the Danube River and passes over a smaller mountain pass between Orșova and Caransebeș. In that part, it goes through the valley of the Tamish and Belareca rivers, where it crosses a few bridges and passes through several tunnels.
During this video, the valley of the Belareca River is shown, with its few bridges and a tunnel, as well as the flattened part in the area of Iablanița, Mehadia and Domaşnea. One of the special scenic parts with phenomenal bird chirping is located at the entrance to Poarta train station. Dense forest at the entrance to the Poarta tunnel, with a special mix of the most diverse animal sounds, croaking frogs, evening crickets sounds, birds chirping and singing, gives a special impression of calming appeasable nature. In front of the one tunnel a large dragonfly appeared, clinging to the plant, so that even a passing train couldnt blow away. A significant number of video sequences were created in the Đerdap Gorge, along the bank of the Danube river. In that part, numerous concrete protective coastal fortifications stand out, protecting the railroad from water, old steel bridges stretch over numerous river gulfs and huge protective concrete walls overhang station Vârciorova (Virci Orova).
A significant number of different freight trains of various cargo operators pass through this line. There are about a dozen of them during the day. Long and heavy freight train traction are often pulled by two or three locomotives, where there is often one locomotive in the middle of freight train, which is very rare to see on the European railways. They are mostly Romanian-made LE 5100, six-axle CFR and others electric ASEA locomotives from Electroputere Craiova. There are also a couple of CFR Calatori passenger and InterRegio trains. The longest daily train of them is IR 73 (Curtici - Arad - București Nord). When there are no trains, scenery views and sounds of nature complement the scenic ambience, during the waiting for the next train coming.
