In 2011, anonymous users on 4Chan became absolutely furious after Sony sued a gamer just for modifying his PlayStation 3.
To the hackers, it was simple: corporations shouldn't have that kind of power over gamers. So six anonymous users formed a group called LulzSec and infiltrated Sony, leaking the private data of over a million users.
Because of the absolute chaos, the FBI began to take notice. But LulzSec was only just beginning.
They did everything from infiltrating Bethesda Game Studios to stealing private ATM data to defacing FBI-affiliated websites to even exposing high-level government officials who had secret accounts.
