From South Evanston to Wilmette… to Kenilworth… to Winnetka… all the way to that Glencoe sign and back again. 42,470 steps. 16.3 miles. 🙌🏾
The lakefront is so beautiful - it feeds the mind, body, and soul. Hallelujah! ✨
On the way home, we stopped at Ten Mile House on Central Street - Angry Shrimp + a Manhattan = balance! 🍤🥂
I love walking four days a week. But let me say this first: consult your doctor. Get the green light, then lace up…good socks, good shoes, water in hand, and soak in the scenery.
I’m so grateful for my walking partner - we laugh, we push each other, and the miles feel even sweeter together. 💕 But if you’re walking solo, don’t let that stop you. Walking alone can be just as powerful: your time to think, pray, heal, and pour back into yourself.
Years ago, I hiked Runyon Canyon in L.A. I missed it. So I started small here: one block every other day. Then another. Then another. Next thing I knew, I was racking up miles on the lakefront. Now this is my Runyon. 🌊
🙏🏾 Grateful. Determined. Joyful. Walking isn’t just exercise…
It’s prayer. Power. Freedom.
Blessed to breathe. Blessed to keep going. ❤️
