Project done by my own, with help of my girlfriend for the physical pyramids. A projection mapping on my living room, done directly in 3dsmax. Everything is triggered in real time, using real life sound, keyboard or my mouse to create a variety of effects.
Usually you will use touchdesigner, madmapper, or vvvv for a project like this, but in 3dsmax we get some improvements that make this possible directly on it.
First using detachable viewport we can have finally a full screen viewport on an exterior monitor.
To do the warping (also realtime on a laptop) I used Inmersive Display Pro: fly.elise-ng.net/immersive-display-pro
They provide me with a free copy to do that, really good product, straight forward to setup, very scalable.
With OSL and the improved viewport on 2020, I get over 120fps on most animated procedural textures, Here, cudos to Mads, I use some of his shaders: github.com/gkmotu
Lightings and shadows are also realtime.
Finally thanks to motion capture in max, I was able to assign realtime audio input, keyboard keys and mouse to different elements on my scene, to drive different effects.
I used tyflow and TP for realtime particle effects (on this video they are not visible, you can see them in action on the making off.
