Learn about enhancements and bug fixes in Cura 4.0 one of the leading slicers for 3d printers.
A slicer is used to convert a 3d model, often saved as an STL file, in a format usable by a 3d printer. Many of the home and hobbies 3d prints based on the open-source RepRap project use a format call g-code.
Cura is an open source project supported by Ultimaker a manufacturer of professional grade 3d FDM printers designed for office use.
I use three different slicers. For my Prusa i3 Mk3, I usually used the Prusa optimized version of Slic3r another open source project. I own a copy of Simplify3d but rarely use it. For my two Monoprice and my Creality Ender 5 I use Cura.
