If you’ve got a few of these pads sitting around the house, not doing a whole lot—grab ’em, and take them to the shop.
I used one as a quick template to batch out a bunch of custom knobs, and I was shocked how well it stuck—without leaving any residue. That alone was worth a video.
Besides acting as a simple, reusable template, they’re perfect as quick stops. Stick one down for a bandsaw depth stop. Slap one on your miter saw fence. Pair it with a table saw miter gauge—you’ve got an instant visual stop, no pencil needed.
Cut the pad into strips and use them to label glue-ups or keep track of sanding stages. Finished a piece? Add a strip. Need to mark the “this side up” face? Add a strip instead of a pencil mark you'll need to sand off later. They’re clean, precise, and come right off.
But one of my favorite tips comes from Steven over at @millingchips on Instagram—stick a Post-it to a piece of glass, add honing compound, and you’ve got a flat, disposable strop for quick chisel touch-ups.
