Getting good audio is as important to me , as the video, and after many years of tweaking and acquiring good gear, I've been happy with the results. Recording the rail environment , can be a tricky thing, as the sound can be whisper quiet , or extremely loud! Without a sound guy, it's difficult to get good quality audio, without clipping, but 32 Bit Float recorders allow you to capture a wide range of sounds without clipping , as long as you follow basic rules on recording.
