A loaded grainy climbs the 1in 48 grade to Mt' Lofty station , at Stirling , in the Adelaide Hills . In the consist today , are a pair of 1976 vintage EMD "ALF' units. These locos once worked for the Commonwealth Railways , and were modernised back in 1994, and feature 16-645 EC3 prime movers and are rated at 3300 HP.
