2023 marks 30 years since I led my first tour through Vietnam. It was August 1993. After decades of war and economic hardship, a long-awaited optimism was taking root across the country. For me it was the beginning of an education and a fascination that continues to this day.
Back in 2013, on the twentieth anniversary, I penned this blog about Vietnam in the 1990s and our first tours. Check it out. rustycompass.com/blog/vietnam-in-1993-a-nation-opens-its-doors-182
