The recent coronation of King Charles III as King of Australia, gave Australians the chance to think again about our curious relationship with the Crown. The day after the coronation of our new King, I decided to visit Government House in Sydney. The 1845 Gothic Revival structure is where royals often stay and usually visit when in our city. King Charles and his parents have stayed and visited on many occasions in the past.It's easy to imagine this place as a favourite for visiting royals - it's a grand Victorian Gothic building in a spectacular garden setting by Sydney Harbour. It's often open to visitors too.
