Havent done a showtune in a while. Ive been thinking about it a lot recently and Ive rarely had a moment in my life where something tough was NOT happening, and when you live a life like that you find specific ways to heal. For me its always been the creative and performing arts, I dreamed and trained for musical theater my entire life up til the age of 21. As a plus size woman of color I realized that I didnt feel like there was a place for me in the casting process, now being a wheelchair user, feel it much more. But my jaw has been suffering and EDS (or age, or anything else, really) might take my voice one day, so I just want to log my favorite songs while I can.
The Last Five Years was my Hamilton in 2005, the show I had forever on repeat and cried to it all the time. I always thought as a plus size woman of color, I would never in my lifetime be considered to play the role of Kathy, and then I saw Cynthia Erivo sing this song this past weekend, and just cried my eyes out, to see her perform that on the stage.So this is the first showtune I will be singing since my showtune hiatus... please be kind, haha.

Ableism is commonly used to insult others or in order to describe something negative and often times people dont even realize where the words they are using come from and how they perpetuate the idea that people with disabilities are lesser. NOTE: Okay, so many of you took the part where I mention harmful language campaigns and the word lame very literally, however the intention was more of a lighthearted segway to explain how the word came to be used today. Ultimately you can obviously say whatever you like and use whatever words you like but is important to understand how language affects the way we think and be informed about how our language can affect other people and harm other people. There’s this pretty charming challenge going around asking for 3 Fictional Characters that you feel describe you! I was tagged by @riotcakes and at first I found it pretty challenging but ultimately landed on three, to which then I decided that 1) That was fun and I love seeing other people’s choices because it gives us a cool feel for people and 2) I wanted to challenge myself even further and find 7 more characters I can use to let you know a little more about me and my personality, so here are 10 fictional characters who in one way or another can #relate. There might be a few that will confuse you but don’t worry, I’ll let you know exactly what it is I feel we have in common.
