I should not have said the authors did not disclose statistical software. They did disclose which software they used. Not sure how I missed that when I read the paper, but it is in fact there. I stand by the rest of my arguments though. My characterization of the adjustment as stratification with MH equations was inaccurate and I should have described the BMI and calcium adjustments as categorizations. The same arguments still stand against them of course. Their adjustment methods I cant agree with that approach even slightly and theres an enormous literature against categorization of this sort. Its not worth debating either given how well known this is. Then now there is no excuse to be using categories.
