The first build is on a bread board and this second build now puts the rig into a case. Here there is less of a chance of shorting out something AND it looks a lot better. Yesterday I made a coast to coast contact in the early afternoon running this rig and a 500 watt amp.
This is a lot more satisfying than trying to make some other forms of SSB rigs like coaxing some juju out of a couple of op-amps and some costly precision resistors and capacitors. Claims about success with hardware only phasing rigs might involve a bit of "puffery"..
