At the emergency hotline Eran, people in emotional distress call. They need someone who listens to them. Meir is working the night shift. Some of the callers he already knows, as they often dial the number. Nevertheless, he tries to help them and takes notes.

DJ Omri H. is taking care of the right vibes at the popular club Haoman 17. It was founded in 1995, burned down once, the owners went to prison for tax invasion. But the club survived and is somewhat legendary. Omri has been a DJ there for 16 years, starting as a teenager.

Aron works for United Hatzalah, a Jewish first aid organisation in Israel. While waiting for emergency calls, he and his colleague dine at a local restaurant and talk about life, love and women. Aaron's wife was chosen for him by his mother.

At Hadassah Medical Center, midwife Yana helps a woman through the pain and stress of labour. It is her eighth pregnancy.

Hilal studies visual communications at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design. He drinks at the bars in West Jerusalem with his fellow students, some of them Arabs, some Jews. Hilal is Palestinian, but is often mistaken as a Jew.

In a traditional Palestinian bakery, the employees work all night to prepare Ka'ak, a kind of sesame bagel. Every step is done by hand and the pastry is baked in an old stone oven. People from all over Jerusalem come to their shop in the morning.
