The 2027 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk is finally showing what it can do off-road, with Jeep releasing the first action footage of the rugged new model. The video puts the upcoming Cherokee Trailhawk through rocky climbs, steep descents, loose terrain, and demanding off-road obstacles.
The new Cherokee Trailhawk is being developed as the more capable member of the latest Cherokee family. Expected upgrades include aggressive all-terrain tires, additional underbody protection, revised bumpers for improved clearance, specialized off-road driving technology, and Jeep Trail Rated capability.
Under the hood, the Cherokee Trailhawk is expected to use the Cherokee hybrid powertrain combining a 1.6-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder gasoline engine with 2 electric motors. In the regular Cherokee, this system produces around 210 horsepower and 230 pound-feet of torque.
While Jeep has not revealed every final specification for the 2027 Cherokee Trailhawk, this first video provides an early look at how seriously the company is taking its off-road capability. The Trailhawk appears to be much more than a visual package, with meaningful changes designed to make the new Cherokee more comfortable when the pavement ends.
