The 2026 Toyota Aygo X GR Sport is the range-topping version of Toyota's smallest car, and it asks a big question for such a little machine: is style and full-hybrid economy worth paying near-supermini money? Once the cheapest way into a Toyota, the Aygo X now wears 18-inch GR alloys, a black bonnet, sport seats and a price that has climbed a long way.
Under the skin sits Toyota's 1.5-litre full hybrid, the same self-charging system as the Yaris, making 116 PS and returning around 76 mpg (WLTP), or under 4 litres per 100km. It stays tiny at 3.7 metres long, so it slips through city traffic and parks anywhere, but the back seats are strictly occasional and the boot holds 231 litres.
