The 2026 Ford Ranger Super Duty is the first factory heavy-duty mid-size ute, and it rewrites what a Ranger can do. Ford strengthened the chassis, fitted heavier axles, thicker driveshafts and eight-stud hubs, then lifted Gross Vehicle Mass to 4,500kg and braked towing to 4,500kg across the entire range. The 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel is heavy-duty calibrated to 154kW and 600Nm through a 10-speed auto and full-time 4WD with front and rear locking diffs. Standard kit includes 33-inch all-terrain tyres, an 850mm wading depth with a snorkel, a 130L tank and a recalibrated trailer brake controller. It out-muscles even a Toyota LandCruiser 70 Series on paper, though 154kW is modest for the weight, so it is built to pull hard rather than sprint. Not sold in the US, where Ford keeps the Super Duty name for the F-Series.
