We go through the split-lamp face and the twenty-inch wheels, then inside for the semi-aniline leather, the massaging and ventilated front seats, the twin 12.3-inch screens and the real climate dials underneath them. Then the numbers: 45 miles of EPA all-electric range from a 22.7 kWh battery, 73 MPGe combined, 30.8 cubic feet of cargo with the third row folded, 12.8 with it up, and 1,500 lbs of towing. One honest catch, and it is a big one: it charges at just 3.7 kW on Level 2, roughly six and a half hours for a full charge, and its only DC fast-charging option is a CHAdeMO socket that America has all but retired. A Toyota RAV4 Plug-in charges up to three times faster on AC and adds CCS fast charging, but it seats five.
